Some will notice it looks somewhat familiar, and this is because it is the same as the 912-101 brushless vibration motor (without the eccentric mass). This means it still operates at 5V and requires an additional driver circuit to handle the electrical commutation. Thankfully we offer an Application Bulletin to cover driving brushless vibration motors, and although written for vibration motors the principles are the same.
We already have several customers experimenting with adding their own eccentric masses to create different vibration strengths and frequencies. It also offers an extremely long-life alternative to normal brushed DC motors, making it suitable for a huge range of applications.
