Due for release towards the end of Q1 2013, we will be adding the Haptic Evaluation Kit to our Product Catalogue along with our normal stock of DC motors, gearmotors, vibration motors, and linear resonant actuators.
The haptics evaluation kit will comprise of a driver input unit and a plastic grip. The user will be able to experience haptic feedback by selecting one of 100+ haptic waveforms with the driver unit and playing that vibration pattern through one of the 12 actuators located in the grip.
Not only will this make it easy for customers to experience a variety of haptic feedback, but we have shared the design process for extra advice and guidance. Users will benefit from open-source software and commercially available components to enable them to implement haptics in their own devices and products.
Although subject to change, the price will be set at an estimated £60 / €75 / $95.
More details will be published as they become available, in the meantime, you can read about haptic feedback here. For specific information on the design of the kit, visit the Making a Haptic Device page.
