Our latest Linear Resonant Actuator is a little different to our previous range of LRAs. Our existing LRAs, such as the C10-100, only vibrate in the vertical axis. This is opposed to our eccentric rotating mass pager motors which vibrate in two axes as the motor rotates.
The new C13-000 still vibrates in one direction, however unlike most other LRAs it does not vibrate vertically. Instead it produces vibrations in a horizontal axis, in parallel with its power leads.
This can support advanced haptic feedback performance improvements for specific applications. Designers can now benefit from the LRA’s quick rise time (typically 7ms) and produce accurate haptic effects in a single axes whilst keeping a low profile design; perfect for handheld products with tight space requirements.
The C13-000 is under 3.5 mm in height and is driven from an AC signal up to 2V RMS. With an extremely low certified start voltage of only 0.3 V RMS it typically produces 0.6 G of vibration, which is comparable with most of the Pico Vibe™ 4mm vibrating motors.
